This is Volume 3 of our Astrological Updates and Reiki Calender. We will
post these updates bi-weekly according to the cycles of the moon. They
will also contain other planetary aspects with potential impact on many
or all of us. This particular New Moon on June 29th is at 8 degrees Cancer.
This holds particular significance for those with CARDINAL signs at 8
degrees (Cancer, Capricorn, Aries and Libra). To gain the maximum benefit
from this information you will want to gain a familiarity with your Natal
chart. It will be very helpful for you to know the degrees of the planets
in your chart and the signs and houses they reside in. If you would like
a personal Astrological or Tarot reading you can contact me Astrology@CelestialDesignInc.com
for a convenient time.
A New Moon occurs about every 29 and 2 days when the
Moon aligns with the Sun from the Earth's perspective, thus the Moon is
invisible due to its close proximity to the Sun. The New Moon is a time
to plant seeds of desire. Working with a clear intent during the New Moon
window (which begins the day before the exact New Moon and concludes the
day after the exact new Moon) is wonderful timing for collectively planting
seeds, or prayers, for wholeness, healing, harmony, balance, peace, and
so on. As the crescent Moon increases in light, growing bigger each night,
it symbolizes the growth of the seeds planted at the New Moon. Before
this New Moon becomes exact it would be wise to take stock of the advances
you have made since your last Moon Ceremony. What new seeds need to be
planted to further your desires? It is helpful to remember that each New
Moon intention we vividly imagine and hold in consciousness is creating
our new reality.
If you do not plan to attend a formal Moon Ceremony, have your own personal
one. Make a list of a few things you want to bring into your life. The
following formula works well, AI now manifest ________ into my life, or,
I am now________.@ Read the intentions a few times and then burn them
so the smoke rises into the heavens. Then forget them and allow the universe
to work on them for you as you get out of the way.
On June 29th, Sunday, the New Moon (8 degrees Cancer) is occurring at
11:39 am PDT. At this New Moon four planets are in Cancer; Mercury, Saturn,
Sun and Moon. Cancer energies encourage the practices of self-care that
are truly nurturing and helpful in creating a peaceful and safe space
that includes total acceptance of ourselves and others. Cancer represents
the archetypal feminine and is the sign most concerned with home, families,
mothers and children, nurturing and growth. It is also interesting to
note that Saturn, which represents the Father archetype, is so closely
associated with this New Moon as is Mercury which holds the energies of
communication and learning. How are we communicating with our loved ones
and what patterns of behavior have we developed which are nurturing to
ourselves and others ? Do our current relationships with our parents serve
our highest good or are these relationships taxing vital self-esteem and
emotional energies? Cancer is a water sign and deals directly with emotion.
All the water signs (Cancer, Pisces, Scorpio) represent emotional balance
and are fundamentally complex and can be problematical.
To further the strength of the water signs in today=s planetary makeup
are two very energizing planets in Pisces; Uranus and Mars. As I have
mentioned before, Uranus will be in Pisces for approximately 7 years and
we can look forward to some revolutionary and unexpected occurrences.
And while Mars usually makes its pass through a sign rather quickly (approx
45 days), due to its apparent backwards motion (retrograde), it will be
aggressively stimulating the creative and emotional waters of Pisces until
mid December (5 months!). All of these planets are now in a trine aspect
that tends to make things easier whatever the energies, helpful or challenging.
MARS (Masculine, yang, aggressive energy)
Mars is definitely worth watching in the evening sky
as it grows brighter, reaching its maximum brightness during its retrograde
cycle beginning July 29 at (10 Pisces). August 27, 2003 is the acronychal
rise (rising as the Sun sets) of retrograde Mars (5 Pisces) when Mars
is closest to the Earth in its 26 month cycle. Based on detailed computations
by Jean Meeus of Belgium, a world-renowned expert in the field of spherical
and mathematical astronomy and author of several highly acclaimed books
including his most recent "More Mathematical Astronomy Morsels"
(Willmann-Bell, Inc., 2002) Mars is making its closest approach to the
Earth in about 73,000 years. From the perspective of the Earth based observer
Mars will outshine all other stars and planets with the only exceptions
being the Moon and Venus. Mars will look more than six times larger and
shine 85 times brighter than normal. We can only really imagine and guess
at what this might mean and what might occur in relationship to this passage
of aggressive Mars so close to the Earth. What feels important is not
to predict or project an outcome for this transit, but rather to stay
present to the unfolding process and attentive to what is emerging within
the collective masculine principle.
