Greetings,

Due to health issues and the beginnings of a new study and resulting business, our time has been limited. Thanks to those who missed the updates and contacted us to see why. We appreciate your support and interest and feel gratified that this information is useful. In this issue we will also provide information on our new enterprise which will greatly expand our ability to help others heal and revitalize their lives. We are extremely excited about the AURA-SOMA training and what lies ahead with this expanded knowledge and wisdom. Mercury Retrograde is back... Oh, yes…its that time again. The oil that lubricates all our social, business, and romantic engagements has gotten murky and it’s probably going to muck up the machine in the next couple of weeks. Mercury is turning retrograde on April 6th!

What does this mean for you? Let’s review: retrogradation refers to the apparent backward movement of a planet in its orbit. Of course, the planets are never actually moving backwards. This illusion is the result of the Earth's own orbit. What's more important is that the appearance of backward movement correlates with the retrograde behaviors associated with that planet. These behaviors are disrupted, imploding, or off-track.

The planet Mercury is associated with thought, communication, and perception. This entails everything from how you think and communicate with people, to the processing and disseminating of information, commerce and transportation. That process is lent an added challenge during Mercury retrograde periods. Traditionally, this period tends to give rise to personal misunderstandings; flawed, disrupted, or delayed communications, negotiations and trade; and glitches and breakdowns with phones, computers, cars, buses, and trains. All of these problems usually arise because some crucial piece of information or component is missing or awry.

Astrologers typically recommend not signing contracts, making big purchases, or making important life decisions while Mercury is retrograde. Of course, sometimes that cannot be avoided, but be very, very careful and read all the fine print. You may have to weather an inopportune delay, but most important is to make sure all your ducks are in a row.

Mercury retrograde is best experienced as a period of reflection, reorganization, or refining of ideas. Get your filing done and put the books in order, rearrange the living room, or spend some time in peaceful relaxation and mediation, letting the events of the last couple of months filter through your consciousness. Mercury retrograde periods can actually bring great insight. (With a fair amount of misunderstandings thrown in for spice!)

This Mercury retrograde is significant in that it begins during the Full Moon, bringing in an emotional tone and a focus on relationships. (During a Full Moon, the Sun and Moon as Yin/Yang or Male/Female are brought into full awareness of each other, standing face-to-face, so to speak.) In relationship, the issues that have been lingering in the background should be brought to the forefront and special attention should be paid to those things that are important to the two of you. This can be a wonderful period of sharing in a closed, safe, intimate environment. Just remember to listen very carefully! Don't jump in with your immediate reactions. Take the time to really hear what your partner is saying. This is a time to process, not defend. This is true for all relationships, whether love, family, or business.

How convenient that Mercury turns retrograde in the spring, allowing us to do our yearly cleaning and get ready for summer! Mercury goes direct again around April 30th and we can look to May 7 for things to start flowing more smoothly once again. If you need help navigating the waters this month, we are always here for you.

Special advice for this particular retrograde period:
Avoid starting construction projects until after April 30; double check your bank balance and financial records, especially tax returns -- better yet, file your taxes well before April 6 or file an extension. When shopping, keep receipts and be prepared to return or exchange your purchases.

FULL MOON April 5
Full Moons always reveal what has been gestating since the last New Moon (March 20). Now we have enough light to see our next steps, as well as what may be in the way of our forward movement. A Full Moon is a culmination and turning point; as the Moon reaches its maximum fullness, so we too feel full and ready for change.

Where the Sun at 16° Aries falls in your chart is the area of life where you are being called to take risks and stride into new territory; where the Moon at 16° Libra lands is where you will need to consider opposing views and strike a balance between your agenda and someone else's.

The Sun in Aries emphasizes independence, while the Moon in Libra signifies cooperation. This is a dance between self and other." We may find it necessary to choose between self-interest and partnership. The illuminating idea of this FULL MOON, though, is that both positions are equally important. Being a strong individual can make one a better partner, and vice versa. We get a big energy push later in the day with a Mars-Jupiter square. These two fiery planets cross paths in Gemini and Virgo, that can scatter our energy, which makes staying on track more difficult than usual. Maintaining focus is clearly an issue, as well, with Mercury turning retrograde on Tuesday. Minds tend to wander during these periods, perhaps due to mental overload. That's why concentration is so important now.

This FULL MOON will also raise emotional tides, pushing relationships to the brink of change, and stirring up the familiar debate between taking immediate action and gathering more information before making a move. The Sun in Aries is like a horse at the starting gate, nostrils flared, hooves pawing the ground, ready to leap into motion. Yet, remember, opposite lies the Moon in contemplative Libra. Libra is a well choreographed dance; Aries is an impulsive blow. This is also a cardinal (all about movement) sign, like Aries, but one that considers consequences before it acts. The greater potential now is to engage with passion tempered by intelligence, fire channeled through wisdom, and desire blended with a sense of fair play.

PLAN YOUR OWN FULL MOON CEREMONY. If you are unable to be with a group of spiritual friends, have your own private ceremony. Jot down two or three areas of your life you want to clean up. The Full Moon is the time to release or get rid of the things in your live that no longer serve you. Possible phrasing: I now release____ from my life. I now end my preoccupation with _______ . Remember, think and envision as though you have already let go of what you have released. Thoughts are things and the brain manifests exactly what you show it in the form of thoughts and visuals about yourself. The Buddha said, and I am paraphrasing, "We are the sum total of our thoughts up to today. " If we want to be different then we must change our thoughts. "If you always do what you've always done, then you'll always get what you've always got." CONSCIOUS CHANGE is the key.

What is Aura-Soma?

Level 1: Foundation

This introductory course combines Theory with practice by providing a conceptual overview of the system as well as direct experience of the "auric revelation of color". At the end of this six-day course, the student will possess a deep attunement and basic understanding of this system.

A Foundation Level graduate is entered in the Academy's Student Register and given a personal registration number and Certificate of Attendance from the Aura-Soma Academy (Aura-Soma International Academy of Colour Therapeutics A.S.I.A.C.T. in England) to recognize the Student's completion of this level of the Training.

Level 2: Intermediate

The prerequisite for attending the Level 2 Intermediate course is completion of the Level 1 Foundation course.

The primary goal of Level 2 is to make connections between the Aura-Soma Color System and other essential wisdom traditions showing the value of recognizing colour's influence on our consciousness. Through these connections many new perspectives become available that may enrich the consultation process.

Level 3: Advanced

Level 3 coursework consists of exploring the language of color through the sequence of the Master bottles, consultation skills are fostered by focusing on observation and listening skills, and developing correspondences between the Aura-Soma Color System and the Tree of Life.

Komala

Komala is one of the first and most experienced Aura-Soma teachers. She has a profound understanding of the concept of Aura-Soma, and inspires people to go deeper into the language of color. She teaches the entire Aura-Soma Practitioner Training and has developed several Aura-Soma courses that are certified by A.S.I.A.C.T. and help Practitioners to ground their consultation skills. She has taught and continues to teach in Japan, throughout Europe and now in the U.S.
