NEW MOON
IN AQUARIUS

In astrology, there are power times - periods when we can
shift our perceptions and move in new directions with less
effort. New Moons are power times. Use the power time of
the New Moon to tune into, clarify, and affirm your deepest
desires.
What is your wish list for the New Moon
in Aquarius? Aquarius is the sign of the future, of going
beyond the norm, of freedom from convention and constraint.
Aquarius is the sign of the rebel and the revolutionary,
the weird and the wacky, the activist and the avantgarde,
the inventor and the iconoclast. Everyone has the sign of
Aquarius somewhere in the chart. The more affinity you have
with Aquarius and its ruling planet, Uranus, the more of
a visionary and nonconformist you need to be. It's not an
easy task. Aquarians pay a price for being ahead of their
time - ridicule and worse, persecution or isolation.
Chiron, the archetype of the Wounded Healer,
is about to enter Aquarius for the first time in 50 years
and will remain there until 2011. His six-year transit through
Aquarius signals a time of healing for the black sheep,
mavericks, and oddballs of the world. We can make the journey
from outcast to catalyst, from being against the old order
to being for the new. Chiron transiting through Aquarius
draws off the bandages from our wounds of alienation and
shows us where we still hide, hedge, and kowtow. We are
all different, but we are all a necessary part of the whole.
Healing happens when we come out of the closet and connect
with other black sheep, other progressive thinkers and doers.
During this New Moon you might ask yourself:
Where have I gone wrong? When did I stop listening to my
feelings and yearnings? What price have I paid? This New
Moon invites us to remember what really matters and to go

PLAN YOUR OWN NEW
MOON CEREMONY. Give yourself
some quiet time in meditation to see where you need to seed
new ways of becoming. List these areas within your life
you want to change. What areas of your life do you want
to break free from the norm and become the inovator? The
NEW MOON is the time to manifest the attributes and things
you want to bring to you. Possible phrasing: I now manifest
____ into my life. I am now _______ . Remember,
think and envision as though you already have what you want.
Thoughts are things and the brain manifests exactly what
you show it in the form of thoughts and visuals about yourself.
The Buddha said, and I am paraphrasing, "We are the
sum total of our thoughts up to today. " If we want
to be different then we must change our thoughts. "If
you always do what you've always done then you'll always
get what you've always got." CONSCIOUS CHANGE is the
key.

FAR SIDE OF THE SUN:
Remember giant sunspot 720? On Jan. 20th it exploded, sparking
bright auroras over Europe and the most intense proton storm
in15 years. Since then the 'spot has been transiting the
far side of the sun, carried around by our star's 27-day
rotation.
Although sunspot 720 is on the sun's far
side now, it's not out of sight. Using a technique called
helioseismic holography, solar physicists can take pictures
of the sun's far side--and they've seen sunspot 720 there.
If the active region holds together a while longer, it could
turn to face Earth again in early- to mid-February.
COMET MACHHOLZ:
With the bright Moon waning, now is a good time to see Comet
Machholz again. Step outside after sunset and face north.
You'll find the comet near the W-shaped constellation Cassiopeia.
It looks like a faint fuzzball, barely visible to the unaided
eye but an easy target for binoculars or a small telescope.
