Reminder, Venus is Retrograde through the 3rd of February. January is not a good time to begin a new love relationship. Lay low until Venus goes direct on the 3rd before seeking a romantic interest.

In Gratitude, as a New Years gift to all my wonderful clients, I will be including Opportunity Periods in the updates from now on. These are a wonderful tool to maximize our efforts. Opportunity Periods reflect favorable aspects of the Moon. The energies of the Moon impact us in a very direct way. Using the positive energies that the Moon showers upon the Earth, to our benefit, makes good sense. Opportunity Periods have proven to provide helpful energy to non routine tasks. If you feel like you are always going against the grain and things are stressful, try using these time periods for more easily accomplishing important tasks: purchases, repairs, client appointments, sales calls, important phone calls, finishing goals, starting new projects, tying up loose ends, starting new relationships ( except when Venus is Retrograde), job hunting, doctor visits, family meetings, etc.

I personally use OPs and find them to be invaluable. I am happy to pass on this unique and useful information. Very few Astrologers are aware of OPs as the formula for their calculation is not widely known. This information will help you stay ahead of the game. A complete list for the year is available. FULL MOON IN CANCER (25 degrees ) 1:48 am PDT, Saturday, January 14, 2006

The Sun and Moon are again, aligned on opposite sides of the Earth. This represents the archetypal pull of the masculine and feminine principle, leading to unity consciousness. Of the signs in the zodiac, the two most descriptive of the masculine/feminine balance are Capricorn and Cancer. Technically, both are yin (receptive and inclusive) energies, but in modern times Capricorn has become more associated with a yang, patriarchal mode and the drive for personal gain, rather than a sense of service to the collective. As the ruler of the 10th house, Capricorn is the phase of becoming fully accountable for one's actions and fulfilling one's role in society. Where the Sun at 24° Capricorn falls in your chart is the area where you're ready to claim more authority and responsibility in your life.

Cancer is the sign most associated with the yin, feminine principle and the importance of home and family. The fourth sign and the 4th house can be seen as the roots of a tree. Without a nourishing base, we cannot grow as tall nor bear as much fruit. Our contribution to the world is limited by our past conditioning and unhealthy environments. The house where the Moon at 24° Cancer falls in your chart is where you could receive more support and be instrumental in supporting others. The Moon also spotlights where we might be out of balance in our personal and professional lives and where we can come back into alignment by paying more attention to our intuition.

Venus is conjunct the Sun, her energy greatly concentrated and amplified by the Sun's rays. Venus retrograde (apparent backward motion) in Capricorn asks us to review our goals and our relationship to authority. There is a bumper sticker that says: "He who dies with the most toys still dies." What is success? And what are we willing to do for it? Venus in Capricorn strives for recognition and achievement; as she moves retrograde, we become aware of whether we have been living by our own values or someone else's. Venus retrograde in Capricorn also calls us to review and restructure governments, corporations, and institutions that are not serving the greater good - a theme that continues until her next turn retrograde (July 27, 2007 at 3° Virgo).

Venus's mythic counterpart, Mars, also plays a starring role in this Full Moon. Because of Mars's recent retrograde phase, he has been center stage for some time, redirecting our passions and rewriting our bottom lines. Mars has been involved in an extended grand cross in fixed signs, causing a lot of tension and a pull of wills, whose force peaks during this Full Moon. Mars at 15° Taurus tightly opposes Jupiter at 15° Scorpio while squaring both Neptune at 16° Aquarius and Saturn at 9° Leo. There are 30 degrees in each sign and the middle degrees of a sign represent the most concentrated expression of that energy as well as the pivot point of change.

The planets, Jupiter through Pluto, are much farther from the Sun and represent a more expanded level of consciousness. When a more inner planet (the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus. or Mars) is aspected by an outer planet, the outer planet "wins." In this case, Neptune (unity), having more perspective, extends our understanding and expression of Mars (personal desire), Jupiter (faith), and Saturn (authority).

Uranus at 8° Pisces is in hard aspect to the Sun and Venus and also Saturn, further aiding in the breakdown of old patterns and limited perceptions. Uranus says it can't be business as usual; it's time to bring back the heart.

Full Moon Ceremony Find the time to have your own private Full Moon Ceremony. You have a three day window of energy in which to manifest your intentions. The day before, the day of, and through the day after the Full Moon.

Jot down two or three areas of your life you want to clean up. The Full Moon is the time to release or get rid of the things in your life that no longer serve you, so by the next New Moon your slate is clean for new beginnings, or furtile for the planting of new seeds.

Possible phrasing: I now release______ from my life. I now release my destructive ________ patterns. I now let go of fear, jealosy, anger, envy, negative thinking, etc... Remember, think and envision as though you have already let go of what you have released. See yourself free from anything holding you back from your dreams. Thoughts are things and the brain manifests exactly what you show it in the form of thoughts and visuals about yourself. The Buddha said, and I am paraphrasing, "We are the sum total of our thoughts up to today. " If we want to be different then we must change our thoughts. "If you always do what you've always done, then you'll always get what you've always got." CONSCIOUS CHANGE is the key.

A Full Moon symbolizes the fulfillment of the seeds planted at a previous New Moon or some earlier cycle. Each Full Moon reminds us of the seeds we may have coming to maturity, to their fullness, to fruition, to the place where the fruits or gifts are received. It may seem that fullfillment of our goals takes a long time. Some intentions may manifest within the two week phase prior to the next New or Full Moon. Some however, depending on their complexity, may take a much longer time. Just remember that our thoughts set Universal Action in motion and much work takes place behind the scenes as everything is orchestrated for fullfilment. Keep visualizing your goals as though you have already attained them and they will eventually manifest. Patience is required.
