FULL MOON IN LIBRA, Thursday April 13th at 9:40am PDT (24 degrees)

Full Moons are always energizing; the electromagnetic pull of the Sun and Moon at opposite sides of the Earth generates high tides in our oceans as well as our emotions. Feelings swell. Psyches get swamped. Rationality ebbs as the Moon waxes full. Crimes committed during a Full Moon in 18th-century England were sentenced less harshly if the defendant entered a plea of "lunacy"; modern law enforcement agencies brace for more calls around the Full Moon. Accidents and postoperative bleeding increase. Tree sap rises; the surface tension of water weakens. Approximately 75% of the Earth and 80% of the human body are made up of water. Oysters that are removed from their normal envirnment and transported inland still respond to the pull of the Moon. We, too, feel the Full Moon's tug, no matter where we are.

With the Sun in Aries, like The Fool in the Tarot, we begin a new journey. When something is new, it's "heads up" time; we must be as attentive and present as possible. Aries represents the archetypal need to march into new territory, risking mistakes, learning as we go. The Fool continually walks into the unknown. In cultures where conformity and predictability are rewarded, Aries implodes. Energy must move, must change, and when it is repressed, wreaks havoc on more subtle levels. What is not ex-pressed becomes de-pressed. Where the Sun at 24° Aries falls in your chart is where you need to hold "Zen mind, beginner's mind" and move on pure instinct. The Moon at 24° Libra shows where you may need to compromise in order to move ahead. Six months ago, on October 17, 2005, there was a lunar eclipse at 24° Aries-Libra. The focus then was on conciliation and collaboration; now the spotlight is on where we need to be more assertive and independent.

Mars, the ruling planet of Aries, is at the last degree of Gemini. The 29th degree marks the end of a life lesson and a testing of what we have mastered. Mars symbolizes how we defend and compete. In Gemini, the Warrior initially seeks to express his ideas and convince others; the mature Warrior listens and learns from others as well. Mercury, the ruler of Gemini, is in Pisces, squaring Mars and even more closely squaring Pluto, forming a mutable t-square. This configuration amplifies the message to incorporate all points of view. Mercury, as the Messenger of the Gods, reveals our illusions and fears for what they are: limited views. Pluto trine the Sun and sextile the Moon makes it easier to go beyond our cultural and religious programming. During Pluto's transit through Sagittarius, we've seen farther into the heavens with the Hubble telescope and farther back in human history with archeological discoveries; as Pluto hovers around 26°56' Sagittarius, the degree of the Galactic Center (the seventh-strongest known source of infrared radiation), we are able to see more of our true identity and our place in the scheme of things.

This Full Moon in Aries signals that we are ready to understand our part in the whole. "Do you want to know the secret of life? That which the plant does naturally, do consciously." (Goethe)

I will be including Opportunity Periods in the updates from now on. These are a wonderful tool to maximize our efforts. Opportunity Periods reflect favorable aspects of the Moon. The energies of the Moon impact us in a very direct way. Using the positive energies that the Moon showers upon the Earth, to our benefit, makes good sense. Opportunity Periods have proven to provide helpful energy to non routine tasks. If you feel like you are always going against the grain and things are stressful, try using these time periods for more easily accomplishing important tasks: purchases, repairs, client appointments, sales calls, important phone calls, finishing goals, starting new projects, tying up loose ends, starting new relationships ( except when Venus is Retrograde), job hunting, doctor visits, family meetings, etc.

I personally use OPs and find them to be invaluable. I am happy to pass on this unique and useful information. Very few Astrologers are aware of OPs as the formula for their calculation is not widely known. This information will help you stay ahead of the game. A complete list for the year is available. Tuesday April 18th from 8:12 am to 2:13 pm and then again the same day from 8:32 pm to 6:15 pm on the 19th. Saturday the 22nd from 4:15 am to 4:03 pm. Monday the 24th from 5:35 pm to 2:12 am on the 25th. Then the same day from 10:18 am to 6:44 pm on the 26th.

We will not be holding formal Moon ceremonies again until May as the Moons fall during the week instead of on the weekend. So, find the time to have your own private Moon Ceremony. You have a three day window of energy in which to manifest your intentions. The day before, the day of, and the day after.

For the Full Moon, Jot down two or three areas of your life you want to clean up. The Full Moon is the time to release or get rid of the things in your life that no longer serve you, so by the next New Moon your slate is clean for new beginnings, or furtile for the planting of new seeds.

Possible phrasing: I now release______ from my life. I now release my destructive ________ patterns. I now let go of fear, jealosy, anger, envy, negative thinking, etc... Remember, think and envision as though you have already let go of what you have released. See yourself free from anything holding you back from your dreams. Thoughts are things and the brain manifests exactly what you show it in the form of thoughts and visuals about yourself. The Buddha said, and I am paraphrasing, "We are the sum total of our thoughts up to today. " If we want to be different then we must change our thoughts. "If you always do what you've always done, then you'll always get what you've always got." CONSCIOUS CHANGE is the key.

A Full Moon symbolizes the fulfillment of the seeds planted at a previous New Moon or some earlier cycle. Each Full Moon reminds us of the seeds that may have coming to maturity, to their fullness, to fruition, to the place where the fruits or gifts are received. It may seem that fullfillment of our goals takes a long time. Some intentions may manifest within the two week phase prior to the next New or Full Moon. Some however, depending on their complexity, may take a much longer time. Just remember that our thoughts set Universal Action in motion and much work takes place behind the scenes as everything is orchestrated for fullfilment. Keep visualizing your goals as though you have already attained them and they will eventually manifest. Patience is required.
