Greetings,

During the month of May while the Sun is in the sign of Taurus, it is an auspicious time to evaluate values and relationships. Relationships are a tricky thing. They reflect how we see ourselves through the mirror of others and how we learn compassion, unconditional love, acceptance and compromise. There are no perfect relationships. Sorry. They may be perfect for the lessons we need to learn through pain, fear or love and risk. However, there is no arrival where one permanently experiences the euphoric "forever after" concept portrayed in the story books. These learning relationships include family, lovers, friends, children and business associations. Our relationships are an ongoing school where we choose to be happy or miserable with varying degrees in between. True success in any relationship is a measure of consistent work and dedication.

We come to Earth to learn and grow. One's culture, society, family values, traditions and religion greatly affect how a person feels about and responds to relationships, which is where we learn the most powerful lessons of life. The most challenging relationships teach us what we don't want or what we need to know and understand to help others. Whatever you choose to do with your uncomfortable relationships, the goal is always happiness. If you choose to stay in a difficult one, be happy with the choice and live large and joyful. If you choose to move on, live with the same gusto. It is all attitude and choice. No one can take from you the attitude with which you go through life unless you let them.

FULL MOON IN SCORPIO May 2, 2007 at 03:09 am PDT (12 degrees)

All Full Moons shine on what has been brewing below the surface. At the New Moon, we plant new seeds: by the Full Moon, we see what has grown thus far and whether we want to continue in that direction. The Moon in Scorpio focuses on what's been in the dark, in the shadows of our awareness. Have we missed any warning signs? Have we been totally honest with ourselves? With others? The Sun in Taurus spotlights what we really want and what we need to see in order to achieve our desires.

Taurus is the sign most concerned with the development of values, in terms of material objects, relationships and our own sense of self-worth. In the West, the religious doctrine of original sin -that we are inherently unworthy and in need of salvation-pervades collective consciousness. In some countries, like the United States, low self-esteem is practically epidemic; in others, virtually unknown. The concept had to be explained to the spiritual leader of Tibet, the 14th Dalai Lama, because it does not exist in his culture. For some people, it is unimaginable not to have a healthy self-regard; for others, to possess it is equally unimaginable. Taurus rules money and resources as well as values, reflecting the connection between self-worth and our relationship to the material world. Ruled by Venus, Taurus represents the development of a healthy relationship with oneself; as the first earth sign, it denotes a respectful relationship to the physical world. Feelings of worthlessness force us into self-denial or overindulgence. Venus's approaching opposition to Pluto (exact on May 6) intensifies our passions as well as our fears, revealing where we are still under the sway of subconscious forces.

In the Full Moon chart, Mercury closely conjuncts the Sun, shedding light on our ideas about money, values, relationships and security, as well as the power of the mind. What we are thinking, we are broadcasting. Mercury conjunct the Sun also makes it easier for us to see what is coming from our ego and what is coming from our essence. Both Mercury and the Sun are widely squared by Chiron at 15° Aquarius and Saturn at 18 Leo; these planets, along with the Moon in Scorpio, form a fixed grand cross. A grand cross forces the breakdown of long-standing patterns and brings their reconfiguration at a higher level. It offers us the option change or be changed. If we're not sure what we need to do differently, the Sun's exact square to Saturn on May 9 will bring more clarity.

Another square, Jupiter-Uranus (exact on May 10 at 18° Sagittarius-Pisces), also amplifies the urge to break free from old patterns. Whenever the expansive energy of Jupiter aligns with the innovative thrust of Uranus, we feel less inhibited and more willing to experiment. Jupiter-Uranus aspects often correspond with breakthroughs in how we view reality and, thus, with advances in technology. Mars's conjunction with Uranus (exact on April 28) and its square to Jupiter (exact on April 30) are motivating us to act on what is true now.

If you have a copy of your Natal chart, check which house 12 degrees Scorpio falls in your chart. For you, this is where the greatest personal impact will be during this Full Moon period.

A Full Moon symbolizes the fulfillment of the seeds planted at a previous New Moon or some earlier cycle. Each Full Moon reminds us of the seeds that may be coming to maturity, to their fullness, to fruition, to the place where the fruits or gifts are received. It may seem that fulfillment of our goals takes a long time. Some intentions may manifest within the two week phase prior to the next New or Full Moon. Some however, depending on their complexity, may take a much longer time. Just remember that our thoughts and emotions set Universal Action in motion and much work takes place behind the scenes as everything is orchestrated for fulfillment. Keep visualizing your goals as though you have already attained them and they will eventually manifest. Do not concern yourself with current conditions or worry about controlling it. The universe takes care of those details. Just keep seeing what you want and give no energy to what you don't want. Patience is required.

Opportunity Periods are a wonderful tool to maximize our efforts. Opportunity Periods reflect favorable aspects of the Moon. The energies of the Moon impact us in a very direct way. Using the positive energies that the Moon showers upon the Earth, to our benefit, makes good sense. Opportunity Periods have proven to provide helpful energy to non routine tasks.
