FULL MOON IN LEO, January 22, 2008, 02:20 am PDT (1 degree)

Full Moons show us whether we wish to continue onward toward our New Moon intentions or try something else. In the orchestra of the Universe, Aquarius represents the chorus: Leo, the soloist. Are we able to harmonize with others? Are we ready to sing another song? The Sun in Aquarius encourages us to join forces with like-minded souls; the Moon in Leo reminds us that each person is important.

At this Full Moon, the Sun - along with Chiron, Mercury. Neptune, and the North Node also in Aquarius, highlights Albert Einstein's maxim that a problem cannot be solved at the level at which it was created. Mercury directly aspects Neptune at 21° Aquarius 12 hours after the Full Moon, increasing one's intuition and idealism. Mercury's retrograde period (January 28 to February 18) generates three Mercury/Neptune conjunctions this year, making Divine Intelligence more easily accessed around February 2 and March 9 (the second and third conjunctions). Mercury's retrograde passage doubles its time in Aquarius (January 7 to March 14), encouraging us to reconsider alternatives and reinforce alliances. Answers will come if we ask and pay attention.

Venus conjoins Pluto in Sagittarius, (exact on January 23) revealing truth, new prospects and perspectives. A few days later, on January 25, Pluto enters Capricorn, initiating a new era. Except for a final retrograde period in Sagittarius later in the summer and fall, Pluto remains in Capricorn until January 21, 2024. As the archetype of death and rebirth, Pluto represents the evolutionary process; the eradication of whatever has outlived its purpose. In Capricorn is the earth sign that deals with collective resources and structures, Pluto focuses its transformative energy on governments, corporations, organizations, and institutions of all kinds. Borders, laws, property and resource rights will be reevaluated and redefined. Traditions and societal norms will change as patriarchal dominance is challenged, and issues of wealth distribution, the environment, recycling, civil rights, marital rights, and aging will be reassessed and reformed. With an orbit of 248 years, Pluto has not been in Capricorn since November 1762 - December 1778, the period that saw the Boston Tea Party and the American Revolution, the confiscation of church lands in Russia and the murder of Czar Ivan IV, the abolition of the Inquisition in France, the first circumnavigation of the Earth, and the beginning of a worldwide industrial revolution fostered by burgeoning free trade, civil liberties, and technological developments.

Pluto reveals the shadow of whatever sign it transits; the dark side of Capricorn is the victim/tyrant archetype, which are two sides of the same coin. Pluto's passage through Capricorn will challenge our social ideas and legal standards around blame and liability, power and responsibility. There's no free lunch with Pluto in Capricorn - and zero tolerance for victim consciousness. Pluto reminds us that we always have a choice and that when we abdicate our responsibility, we give away our power.

A Full Moon symbolizes the fulfillment of the seeds planted at a previous New Moon or some earlier cycle. Each Full Moon reminds us of the seeds that may be coming to maturity, to their fullness, to fruition, to the place where the fruits or gifts are received. It may seem that fulfillment of our goals takes a long time. Some intentions may manifest within the two week phase prior to the next New or Full Moon. Some however, depending on their complexity, may take a much longer time. Just remember that our thoughts and emotions set Universal Action in motion and much work takes place behind the scenes as everything is orchestrated for fulfillment. Keep visualizing your goals as though you have already attained them and they will eventually manifest. Do not concern yourself with current conditions or worry about controlling it. The universe takes care of those details. Just keep seeing what you want and give no energy to what you don't want. Patience is required.

PERSONAL MOON CEREMONY Find the time to have your own private Moon Ceremony. You have a three day window of energy in which to manifest your intentions. The day before, the day of, and the day after.

For the Full Moon, jot down two or three areas of your life you want to clean up. The Full Moon is the time to release or get rid of the things that no longer serve you, so by the next New Moon your slate is clean for new beginnings, or fertile for the planting of new seeds.

Possible phrasing: I now release______ from my life. I now release my destructive ________ patterns. I now let go of fear, jealousy, anger, envy, negative thinking, etc... Remember, think and envision as though you have already let go of what you have released. See yourself free and living your dreams. Thoughts are things and the brain manifests exactly what you show it in the form of thoughts and visuals about yourself. The Buddha said, and I am paraphrasing, "We are the sum total of our thoughts up to today. " If we want to be different then we must change our thoughts. What you think about grows!! "If you always do what you've always done, then you'll always get what you've always got." CONSCIOUS CHANGE is the key.
